Privacy policy
Effective October 27, 2026. Applies to the SquadAce app and this website.
Who we are
SquadAce is made by Interactive Forge LLC, 418 Broadway Ste N, Albany, NY 12207 (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at interactiveforge.apps@gmail.com.
SquadAce is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the New York City Police Department, the City of New York or any union.
The short version
- What you enter in SquadAce is stored on your phone. We do not receive it and cannot read it.
- We do not sell your information, show ads, or build advertising profiles.
- Some features contact other services (maps, address search, weather, ESS). Those are described below.
What the app keeps on your phone
Depending on the features you use: overtime slips, schedule and chart settings, vacation picks, pay statements and the overtime days read from them, Video Canvass visits and photos, notes, your name and rank for the forms you create, and your settings. This information stays on your device. We do not have access to it. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, it is deleted, and we cannot recover it. Use the app’s backup and PDF features to keep your own copies.
What can leave your phone
Things you choose to send
When you email, text or share a PDF or backup, it goes through your own email, messaging or sharing app to the people you pick. We do not see it.
ESS sync (optional)
If you start an ESS sync, the app opens the City’s ESS site (nyc.gov) inside the app, on your phone, and reads your own pay stub and overtime pages. You sign in yourself. If you choose to save your login, it is kept encrypted on your phone and is not sent to us. The pay information read from ESS stays on your phone. You can delete it in the app. You are responsible for following City and Department rules on using ESS.
Location, addresses and maps
If you allow location, the app uses it to fill in addresses and place visits on a map. To look up an address, show a map or find nearby places, the app sends the address or coordinates you are working with to outside services: OpenStreetMap (Nominatim, map tiles and Overpass), the NYC Planning Labs address search, and Open-Meteo for weather. Those services can see your phone’s internet address and the request. Tapping a link to Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze or Google Calendar opens that company’s app or site under its own privacy policy.
Code libraries and fonts
The app loads some libraries and fonts from content delivery networks (such as cdnjs, jsDelivr and Google Fonts). Those providers receive standard technical information, like your internet address, when your phone downloads them.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Location: to fill in addresses and map visits.
- Camera and photos: to attach pictures to a visit or add pay statements. Pictures stay on your phone unless you share them.
- Internet: for the features above.
You can turn any permission off in your phone’s settings. Some features will then stop working.
This website
This website is a static information site. It does not use accounts, advertising or analytics cookies. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as your internet address and the pages requested.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because the data is on your phone, you control it. Delete entries inside the app, use its delete options, or uninstall the app to remove everything. To ask us a question about privacy, email us at the address above.
Security
The app relies on your phone’s protections. Use a screen lock. Be careful where you send PDFs and backups, because they may contain case, overtime or pay information. You are responsible for what you enter and share, and for following your Department’s rules.
Children
SquadAce is for adults who work in the service. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
